As a Style Designer at Nicky Clarke Salons for over five years, Alex Mackey is an experienced hairdresser whose dedication, commitment and passion for his art has made him one of the salon's most popular stylists. Throughout his career at Nicky Clarke Alex has personally trained by Group Salons Director Simon Smith who has passed on his belief that all clients should be offered a bespoke hairdressing service, which suits their individual lifestyle, features and personality. In the salon Alex combines this philosophy with his passion for identifying the latest trends in British Hairdressing, which he personally tailors to each client.

Alex's enthusiasm for hairdressing stems from his previous profession as a women's fashion designer. He has always had a talent for making women look and feel beautiful, which is a skill he has bought into the salon. Being involved with the fashion industry has also taught Alex the ability to predict trends and he gets his inspiration for hairstyles from designer catwalk shows, taking high-end fashion styles back to the salon and making them wearable for the client.

As well as being one of the salons top stylists, Alex is passing on his passion and skills in hairdressing to other young talent at Nicky Clarke through the salons' extensive education programme.
